With the tension stirring up in our guts, some interview tips sure come toour rescue and thus today I am penning down some after having facedquite a variety of interviews for jobs. I have divided the tips in three sections, viz., before, during and after the interview and thereason behind it is that it is an entire process starting from priorto meeting the interviewer face to face to after leaving the premises. So here we go:
Before the Interview
Preparation, preparation and preparation is the only mantra that I would endorse.There is nothing better than a candidate who is well prepared with answers to generic questions for interview and knows about the organization too. Find out about your job profile in general; be prepared to ask comparative questions to the interviewer. Remember your accolades andgrades in academics. Know your own resume well; the questions will bebased on that. Dress appropriately and relax. Think that it is adiscussion, not a question - answer session.
During the Interview
This is the most important stage of selection. Everything about you comes under the scanner, starting from your entry to exit, the way you stand, sit, talk, your gestures, facial expressions, etc. Keep in mind that the person on the other side is an experienced fellow and is trained to look for these intricacies of body language.
